Config for FT-991

The following illustrates the configuration that I found to work for WSPR-X and the Yaesu FT-991. Version of WSJT-X is V1.6.0_RC2 r6253 running under Windows 7.


The enhanced port for my FT-991
is com 4.Set WSJT-X sound settings to USB Audio CODEC.
Yaesu FT-991 Settings
  • 031 Cat Rate change the value to 4800bps
  • 033 CAT RTS ensure value is set to RTS
  • 060 PC Keying Set to value to DTR
  • 062 Data Mode ensure value is set to PSK
  • 070 Data In Select ensure value is set to Rear
  • For Windows 7 set 071 Data PTT Select ensure value is set to DTR
  • 072 Data Port Select ensure value is set to USB

Manually set mode on Yaesu FT-991  to Data-USB , next set RX audio level on WSJT-X to 30 dB.  Set TX level such that ALC is just not observed on the FT-991.

    have you had any issues with the usb codecs since the newest firmware was released?
