Spoke with UK dealer today who advises that the upgrade (if it happens) will be £400-£500 as they will have to replace the main and control boards. As they would offer £600 part-ex against a new 991A it hardly seems worth the effort. Also, I was told that there is likely to be a delay in this coming to market as the serial number is hard coded into the hardware and Yaesu UK don't currently have a way of changing it to match the original hardware.
